The present invention provides a system for providing an early warning and advice of a fault in a turbogenerator, particularly of a thermal power plant, comprising: a measurement module for online aquisition of measured values from turbo-generator sub-systems; a control and instrumentation platformm forinterfacing with said measurement module using an ethernet connection, an ethernet based data-highway and a supervisory modules; said supervisory module gaining access to the measured valves through said control and instrumentation platform for providing expert advice by interpreting the measured data.
