The prresent invention deals with an improvised strainer ina submersible pump set wherin the cuts in the strainer narrow,in the form of helical slits in a sewed manner al around the periphery,the skewed slits also extending to the horizontal circular bottom portions of the strainer and the extended hub portion of the strainer carrying plurality number of grooves which forms water rings and discourages the flow of contaminated water towards the bearings.
