A graphical dynamic method and device for text-entry for akshar-oriented language, like Brahmi-script based Indian languages. An akshar may be formed by logical merging of some basic symbols in language. For entering an akshar, user can select two of it’s symbols, by first displaying a first set of symbols, one of which represents the first of the two symbols to be selected. When the user selects the first symbol, the method displays a second set of symbols, representing some symbols, which can logically merge with the earlier selected symbol. If the second symbol is represented, the user selects it; otherwise, he can display an appropriate alternate set, which represents the second symbol, and selects it. He can also select other symbols in the akshar. The method can recognize start and end of akshar entry and then forms the akshar as logical merging of the selected symbols. Drawing 27 Sheets.
