An improved jack for horizontally extending trailer tongue (22) including a bracket (30) attached to the trailer tongue (22), a longitudinal shaft pivotally supported to the bracket (30) and pivotal between a substantially vertical position and a substantially horizontal position, a wheel housing (42) supported at a lower end of the shaft, a wheel (46) rotatably supported by the housing (42), a lower portion of the shaft (40) being rotatable about a shaft longitudinal axis, a crank arm (58) rotatably extending from said wheel housing (42) and having a drive gear (62) thereon, and a driven gear (56) affixed to the wheel (46), the driven gear (56) being coupled for rotation when the drive gear (62) is rotated to cause the wheel (46) to rotate for moving the trailer when the wheel (46) is in contact with the earth's surface (FIG1.).
