A power transmission controller for a motorcycle includes a velocity sensor, a throttle position sensor, a power driver, a gear-shifting mechanism, a control unit with an automatic transmission control unit and a manual transmission control unit, a module-shifting switch, and a gear-shifting switch with an upshift switch and a downshift switch. When in an automatic transmission module, the automatic transmission control unit first reads signals from the velocity sensor and the throttle position sensor, and then outputs a controlling signal so as to actuate the power driver and to manipulate the gear-shifting mechanism for gearshifts. Whereas when in a manual transmission module, the upshift switch and the downshift switch are used for actuating, selectively, the power driver, and further manipulating the gear-shifting mechanism, for gearshifts.
