An aerial cableway installation comprising means of transportation (2) such as gondolas or chairs, which in stations (3) can be coupled to the cable and decoupled from the cable, in the region of the stations (3) comprises guide devices (1, 16) on which the decoupled means of transportation (2) can be moved beside the cable. By means of a transport device (4, 5, 6) the means of transportation (2) can be driven along the guide devices (1, 16). At least in sections the transport device (4, 5, 6) can be temporarily deactivated so that in this region means of transportation (2) can be stored when the aerial cableway installation is not operating. In order to simplify storage of the means of transportation, and to simplify renewed circulation of the means of transportation (2), at least one conveyor device (7, 7") is provided, which at least in some regions is arranged so as to be parallel beside the transport device (4, 6), and which can be made to engage and disengage the means of transportation (2).
