PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURE OF WATER-SOLUBLE SUBSTANTIVE UV-ABSORBING POLYMERS.

Application 868/MUM/2002 published 2006-05-05, filed 2002-10-03
A process for manufacture of cationic polymers containing cinnamidoalkylamines and / or benzamidoalkylamines, with ‘inverse temperature dependant solubiliy’ is described in the present invention. The UV-absorbing water-soluble polymers are substantive due to their cationic nature and also due to their ‘inverse temperature dependant solubility’. They are water-soluble at ambient conditions and yet they are water-resistant at the temperature of human body as well as in the presence of electrolytes. These properties make these macromolecules useful for personal care as well as fabric care products. Drawing: 02 Sheets Total Pages: 19. Fig. Nil
