The invention relates to an assembly including a pressurised gas storage tank (1) and a control device for filling the tank (1) with gas and/or extracting gas therefrom. The aforementioned tank (1) includes: a hole which communicates with the interior of the tank, a filling and distribution head (2) which is disposed at the hole and which includes a pre-expansion device (22) which is at least partially integrated inside the volume of the tank (1), and a connection interface (3) which is removably engaged with the gas supply and/or extraction control device such as to co-operate therewith. The invention is characterised in that the head (2) includes an isolation member (8), such as a valve, which is housed at least partially inside the volume of the head (2) and which can be accessed by an opening member (310, 17) that is external to the head (2) through an access hole (6) that is provided in the head (2). The above-mentioned control device includes a body having a connection end (303, 516) which is intended to be removably engaged with the connection interface (3), an opening member (310, 17) which can move in relation to the body and an actuation element (302, 250) which can move the opening member (310, 17) selectively between a retracted rest position and an operating position in which one end of the opening member (310, 17) projects out from the body beyond the connection end (303, 516), such that the opening member (310, 17) can extend into the access hole in the head in order to open the isolation member (8).
