An improved bubbling fluidized bed combustion (BFBC) system comprising a fluidized bed and a fuel bunker said fluidized bed being provided with an inlet for fluidizing air, said fluidized bed and said fuel bunker being connected with one or more fuel feed nozzles, said fuel feed nozzles being provided with means (2)for admitting additional air for combustion of volatile matters and charcoal; said air nozzles being provided with a plurality of distributor so arranged to supply additional fluidizing air; the outlet path (4) of fludising air is designed for the air to flow at high velocity without hindering the path of fuel flow from fuel feed nozzle, the height (5) of said fuel feed nozzle being designed to minimize erosion of air distributor nozzles, pitch of said fuel nozzle being arranged in said air distributor to supply fuel uniformly across the fluidized bed and said solid fuel outlet of said fuel nozzle being designed to obtain drop in pressure in said pneumatic transportation pipes.
