The tampon overwrap removal force can be reduced by treating overwrap, treating the tampon cover, applying a slip agent between the overwrap and tampon cover, and the like. This can reduce the shear force necessary to remove the tampon from its package to less than about 5N after conditioning at 40°C/75% humidity for at least one week. (FIG. nil)
