The invention is concerned with tricyclic pyrazole derivatives of the general formula wherein R1 to R4 each signify hydrogen, hydroxy, halogen, lower alkl, lower alkoxy or phenyl; R5 signifies hydrogen or lower alkyl, R6 signifies hydrogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; X signifies -(CR7R8)n- or -CH=CH-; R7 and R8 signify hydrogen or lower alkyl and n signifies 1 or 2, as well as pharmaceutically acceptable, salts of basic compounds of general formula I. These compounds and salts are suitable for use as therapeutically active substances, especially for the treatment or prevention of central nervous disorders such as depressions, bipolar disorders, anxiety states, sleep and sexual disorders, psychoses, schizophrenia, migraine and other conditions associated with cephalic pain or pain of a different kind, personality disorders or obsessive-compulsive disorders, social phobias or panic states, mental organic disorders, mental disorders in childhood, aggressivity, age-related memory disorders and behavioural disorders, addiction, obesity, bulimia etc., damages of the nervous system by trauma, stroke, neuro-degenerative diseases etc., cardiovascular disorders such as hypertension, thrombosis, stroke etc. and gastrointestinal disorders such as dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract motility.
