METHOD FOR PRODUCING HYDROXYLAMMONIUM SALTS
Application 1028/MUMNP/2005 published 2006-05-12, filed 2005-09-20
The invention relates to a method for producing hydroxylammonium salts by catalytic reduction of nitrogen monoxide with hydrogen in a diluted mineral acid aqueous solution in the presence of a platinum-based catalyst on suspended supports in several successive reaction stages. The inventive method is carried out in a stirring reactor provided with a gas inlet and outlet system arranged in the lower part thereof. A disk agitator provided with inclined and concavely arched stirring blades arranged around a hub by means of the support or rest faces which are rotationally driven in a displacement direction by the corner or concave sides thereof is arranged immediately above. The top part of the reactor is provided with a two-bladed stirrer whose individual blades in the form of thin plates are offsetly arranged and continuously humidify the reactor cover during the rotation thereof. The advantage of the inventive method lies in that the reduction reaction is performed by means of a special stirring device at a surpassingly unusual high speed, thereby making it possible to attain a high operational capacity without increasing the reactor volume.
