An apparatus to measure, digitally the “Co-HIILFLHQWRIIULFWLRQ  between two surfaces, irrespective of handling the apparatus manually, thus ruling out any assumption which may result in inaccurate results. The apparatus uses a sensing device which senses the motion of the body on the plane and stagnates the motion instantaneously. The circuitry comprising of various IC’s calculates the Tangent of the angle of friction or “Co-HIILFLHQWRIIULFWLRQ  ´. The apparatus includes a stepper motor coupled with that to the plane ruling out any manual interference. Circuitry using digital IC’s automatically calculates the “Co-efficient of IULFWLRQ  ´and displays accordingly. Drawing: 1 Sheet Total Pages: 6 Fig. 1
