The present invention provides a latex comprising two populations of particles of polymers based on vinyl chloride, one population having a mean diameter of between 0.9 and 1.3 Um and one population having a mean diameter of between 0.15 and 0.3 Um, in proportions such that the ratio by weight of the population with the lesser mean diameter to that with the greater mean diameter is between 0.4 and 0.7. The present invention also provides processes for the manufacture of such a latex and its use in fluid plastisols and foams of very good cellular quality.
