A hot water distribution system comprising a) an overhead tank for storing cold water; b) a source for heating the water; c) a main distribution header for leading hot water from the solar collector; d) a plurality of temperature controlled diverter valves fitted along the main distribution header, each of said diverter valves adapted to allow flow of water at pre set elevated temperatures; e) hot water storage tanks remote from the source for heating the water, and associated with at least some of the diverter valves for storing hot water at different pre set elevated temperatures diverter to them via the diverter valves. f) Mixer valves linking outlet conduits from each of the said hot water storage tanks to conduits supplying cold water from the overhead tank to enable water from the mixer to be led out to a main distribution line at a reduced predetermined temperature; and g) Outlet means from the said hot water storage tanks to allow for direct use of hot water from the hot water storage tanks at pre determined elevated temperature Drawing: 2 Sheets.
