The present invention relates to a support component 1 for asupport structure 100 of a seat, in particular of a motor vehicle seat. The support component 1 according to the invention comprises a continuous oblong plane element 10 having an ergonomic shape in view of a back shape of a seated person to be supported and hav-ing at least two fastening means 30, 40, wherein said plane element 10 comprises at least one support portion 60, 70 and at least one motional portion 80 having higher flexibility compared to the at least one support portion 60, 70 so that the at least one support portion 60, 70 is adaptable to the back shape by means of the flexibility of the at least one motional portion 80.
