This invention provides a novel twin rubber bag device, for brachytherapy of the uterine cervix which over comes the problems of the prior art. In particular, this invention provides a twin rubber bag device which can be inflated and released with air or liquid independently. This twin bag device could be used to both positionally secure the Fletcher suit applicator within the vaginal canal and to distend the confronting vaginal wall thereby increasing the distance of such tissue from the radioactive source contained in the applicator and correspondingly reducing radiation damage to nearby tissues and organs such as rectum and bladder.
