In one embodiment, a sheet media input structure (15) for a printer or other sheet media processing device comprises a sheet media supporting surface (76, 78,80) and a movable face (98,152) positioned downstream along a media path (30) from the supporting surface (76, 78, 80). The face (98,152) is movable between a first position in which the face (98,152) protrudes into the media path (30) to block a leading edge of media sheets supported on the supporting surface (76, 78, 80) and a second position in which the face (98,152) does not protrude into the media path (30) and media sheets are free to move from the supporting surface (76, 78, 80) along the media path (30) past the face (98, 152). In one embodiment, the face (98) pivots between the first and second positions. In another embodiment, the face (152) rotates in a plane between the first and second positions. (FIG1).
