VALVE ASSEMBLY FOR A CONTAINER OPENING OR THE EQUIVALENT
Application 1437/KOLNP/2004 published 2006-08-11, filed 2004-09-28
Disclosed is a valve arrangement comprising a base member (2) that is mounted on an opening of a container, hose, or similar, which is to be closed. Said base member comprises a through passage (3) that is provided with axial ends. A first valve seat (9) is arranged near one axial end of said through passage. A valve element (4) comprising axial ends and a second valve seat (8) is arranged inside the base member near one axial end thereof. Said second valve seat (8) can be engaged in a sealing manner with the first valve seat so as to close the through passage. The valve element is movable in a stop-limited manner relative to the base member between a closed position and a released position. A tappet element (13) comprising first coupling means (12) can be introduced at the other axial end of the through passage so as to detachably engage with second coupling means (11) that are disposed on the valve element such that the valve element is moved at least from the closed position to the released position, preferably also from the released position to the closed position. The base member and the valve element are separate shaped parts. A shaft section (5) of the valve element (4) extends through a throughway which is circumscribed by stop arms (16) protruding from the inner peripheral wall of the through passage (3) towards the inside. The width of said throughway is greater than the radial dimension of the shaft section but smaller than the radial dimension of a collar surface (18) of the valve element such that said collar surface can be engaged in a movement-restraining manner with the stop arms when the valve element is moved into the released position, whereas the stop arms can yield in a resilient manner from the movement-constraining resting position towards the outside when said stop arms are subjected to a force acting in a direction that is counter to the direction of movement of the valve element into the released position. The inventive valve arrangement is characterized by the fact that the valve element (4) is arranged within the axial and peripheral boundaries of the through passage (3). (FIG. 1)
