The invention relates to a method for multiple structured sheet metal foils (1) which comprises the steps of A) forming the sheet metal foil (1), thereby producing a primary structure (4) having a first primary structure width (5); B) forming the sheet metal foil (1) which has been provided with a primary structure (4), thereby producing a secondary structure (6); C) forming the structured sheet metal foil (1), thereby producing a second primary structure width (7) that is smaller than the first primary structure width (5). The invention also relates to a support which comprises multiple structured sheet metal foils for exhaust gas purification and to a tool for producing multiple structured sheet metal foils. (FIG. - 2)
