This invention relates to an apparatus for plasticization of wood for making of bent wood furniture comprising a chamber having a first inlet connected to a vacuum pump, said chamber having a second storage tank for introduction of ammonia into said chamber, an outlet with said chamber connected to a water storage tank and a process for the plasticization of wood for making a bent wood furniture comprising in the steps of seasoning the stock, introducing the seasoned stock into a camber for causing a treatment with ammonia in the vapour phase, drying the treated stock.
