A PROCESS FOR INHIBITION OF LATEX SECRETION IN JATROPHA CURCAS THROUGH TISSUE CULTURE

The present invention relates to a process for inhibition of latex secrection in Jatropha curcas comprising the steps of : i) preparing for culture growth a medium comprising interalia of MS medium described herein, growth regulator, antioxidants at a pH of 5.6 to 5.8, sterilizing said medium by heating it between 115°C and 125°C and at a pressure of 1.3 to 1.7 kg/cm2; ii) incubating nodal explants of Jatropha Curcas in said medium in sterile condition between 23 to 27°C for a period of 14 to 16 hours; characterized in that said growth regulator and antioxidants is a combination of Benzyl Amino Purine (1mg/1), Indole acetic acid (0.5 mg/1), and Adenine Sulphate (25 mg/1), said antioxidant is a combination of poly venyle pyrilidone (1g/1) and L-Cystein (10mg/1).
