PILLION FOOTREST ACTUATING SYSTEM FOR TWO WHEELED VEHICLES

This invention relates to a pillion footrest actuating system for two wheeled vehicles comprising of a chassis (1), footrest (2) with lug (30), a lever (5), cables (11,11a), a bracket (14) for footrest, bracket assembly (6) for release mechanism, a torsion spring (7), a compression spring (8), a release cam or dog (10), a cable adjusting means (20), a cable mounting bracket (18), and bracket (22) for lever (5). In the said actuating system position of the footrest (2) is actuated by the lever (5) located within rider’s reach at front of the vehicle, the lever (5) operates a cable (11) one end of which being connected to the operating end of the lever, another cable (11a) joined to the cable (11) through a cable adjusting means (20), the cables (11 and 11a) in turn put the footrest (2) in extended positioned by compressing spring (8) and releasing lug (30) from the cam or dog (10) and releasing energy of the torsion (7) via release mechanism and the footrest (2) loaded with torsion spring (7) is put back to its retracted position by pushing the footrest (2) which release the cam or dog (10) to lock the lug (30) with the footrest.
