Carbon black having organic groups, the organic group containing a thiocyanate group. Also described is a process for the production of the carbon black according to the invention, wherein carbon black is reacted with organic compounds containing a C-C double or triple bond, which is not part of an aromatic system, whose C-c double or triple bond is activated by at least one substituent, and the organic compound contains at least one thiocyanate group. The carbon black according to the invention can be used in rubber compounds. (FIG.nil).
