Application 861/KOL/2005 published 2006-10-20, filed 2005-09-19
A fan for generating a vacuum in fibre strand condensing zones of a spinning machine is described. The fan comprises a fan drive shaft supported in a rotable way in a bearing housing, which fan drive shaft penetrates with each of its ends an open face side of the bearing housing. A fan wheel is arranged to one end of the fan drive shaft, while at the other end a drive wharve is arranged. The bearing areas of the fan drive shaft are sealed from the outside with sealing gaps in the area of the face sides of the bearing housing. In accordance with the present invention, a thread groove for the purposes of repelling fibre fly is arranged to the sealing gaps on the bearing housing and/or on a component which rotates with the fan drive shaft.
