. A PROCESS FOR REMOVING LEAD FROM LEAD CONTAINING INDUSTRIAL WASTE WATER OR EFFLUENTS

Application 525/DEL/2004 published 2006-05-26, filed 2004-03-19
The present invention reports a process for removing lead from lead containing industrial waste waters or effluents using cheap, easily available solid industraial waste possessing a very high adsorption capacity for the toxic elements like lead which causes hazardous effects on the environment if disposed off untreated. The process involves taking a solid adsorbent and adding lead containing industrial waste and stirring by keeping at specific temperature and pH for a period ranging 1-24 hours and recovering lead free industrial waste. The waste solid adsorbent used in this process adsorbs lead in the range of 77-99% from industrial waste water.
