A process for recovery of manganese from low grade manganese ore has been reported The process of microbial leaching comprises growing of Penicillium citrinum (MTCC 3303)culture in a specific mineral salt medium for 30-35 days using 2-3% W/V manganese ore and recovering the manganese by standard technoque.. Manganese yield by this process is upto about 65% of manganese ore used.
