Application 555/DEL/2004 published 2006-05-26, filed 2004-03-22
Traditional staple foods in India, Chapathis and poories stand next only to cooked rice. In northern parts of the country Chapathis and poories are the main staple foods. One of the main obstacles in their occupying the prime place in the South is the tedious operation involved in preparation of the same. Inspite of this, there is a gradual change over to Chapathis from cooked rice. In large number of hotels hundreds of Chapathis/poories are prepared and consumed daily. All the preparatory operations are carried out manually, which is completely unhygienic. The sheet or stands obtained by using the improved device of the present invention are of uniform thickness and are obtained in a continuous manner. The dough employed may be such as wheat dough, urd dough. The improved device of the present invention is therefore useful as an accessory to a machine for making Chapathis, papads, etc.
