A process for the preparation of novel polysulfide copolymers is provided whereby styrene dibromide is polymerized with ethylene/methylene dibromide in presence of sodium/potassium sulfide using phase transfer catalyst. The polysulfide copolymers prepared by this new process exhibit melting point in the range of 59-1240C and are soluble in organic solvents thereby ensuring their easy processability for industrial applications.
