A method of treating industrial waste water containing metal traces and metal contaminated aqueous solutions, including metal polluted drinking water, comprising the steps of treating the said waste water with immobilised metal sequestering substances, said substancs being produced from strychnos potatorum (L) seeds, for reducing the metal load from ppm to ppb level and thus removing metal substances from said waste water.
