- A process for the preparation of novel galactopyranosylated aminoalcohols Of the general formula 2, wherein R1 and R2 is selected from group consisting of 1-18 carbon atom branched or unbranched alkyl, functionalised or unfunctionalised aliphatic, substituted or unsubstituted cyclis or substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl or aryl, galactopyranosylated amino alkyl or H, which comprise reaching 6-O- (2’, 3’ – epoxy propyl)- 1,2,3,4-di-O-isopropylidene- galactopyranose of the general formula 1with primary,secondary, substituted or unsubsituted functionalised or unfunctionalised aliphatic,cyclic or acyclic, subsituted or unsubsituted aromatic or heteroaromatic amines in an organic solvent at a temputerature ranging from 0 0C to 100 0C optionally in presence of a phase transfer catalyst for a period of 1-18 hrs.
