HYDROPENEUMATIC SYSTEM WITH SWING ARM FOR FREE FLOATING MILL

Application 839/MUM/2003 published 2006-01-20, filed 2003-08-21
using mills primarily does A conventional method in the sugar industry for extraction of juice from sugarcane for the manufacture of sugar or ethanol as the end product. Despite improvements in areas such as roller arcing (roughening), modifications in view of efficient conveying systems, juice screening etc no efforts have been made towards free floating hydraulic roller. The invention “Hydro pneumatic System with swing arm for Free Floating Mill” eliminates all the drawbacks of conventional mills by virtue of a swing arm which has pivot pin inserted in the mill head stock. The swing arm hinges freely about the pivot, which is fixed to the head stock. The swing arm hinges freely about the pivot, which is fixed to the headstock. This swing arm helps to keep the frictional losses low and thus the pressure required by the cylinder is lessened and the extraction of juice is more. Thus, the roller floats in arc and bearing does not slide on mill headstock. As the co-efficient of friction at pivot pin is very less due to the use of modern anti-friction spherical plain bearing for the swing arm, complete free floating of the top roller is certainly achieved.
