Power supply to utilities is currently carried out through a system of switching, wherein the grounding line is not switched-off along with the phase lines, i.e., the grounding line is common for all utilities, consequent to which this can affect instruments which are otherwise switched-off. In this circuit if one equipment. becomes defective, all the equipment in the circuit are affected. This current practice of two pole switching system is proposed to be upgraded by replacing it with a three pole switching system, particularly in single-phase circuits for safety purposes.
