The present invention relates to a novel Micro-Electro-Mechanical System based electronic earthquake early warning device that will generate an early earthquake warning signal before the arrival of destructive seismic waves, said device comprising: one or more monitoring systems composed of MEMS based accelerometer sensors; a processing unit that converts data to information; a warning issuing and communication system and real-time communication link that transmits data from the one or more of the said monitoring systems to the processing unit and from the processing unit to the warning issuing and communicating system.
