TANNERY EFFLUENT TREATMENT - A SOURCE OF INCOME.

The process for treatment of tannery industrial effluents, recovery and reusing process involves four steps of treatments, in fIrst step adding of aluminium, chloride solution to soaking pits salt effluent to remove inpurities as sludge which is filtered the filtrate then evaporated for salt recovery, similarly in second step by adding aluminium-sulphates or oxalic-acid-solutions to beam house effluent water to remove suspended as well as dissolved solids from effluent, further thirdly barium hydroxide solution is added to chromium effluent to remove chormium as asludge and re-use lastly diagesting the waste hide pieces and other biologica waste then conversion into poultary feed or fish meal. The process as claimed in claim. 1 where in it involves the process men tined as adding of aluminium chloride solution to soaking-pits-salt effluent to precipitate suspended solids and also other inmpurites along with dissolved solides except sodium chloride, the precipitate formed is removed by filtration and neutralized the soaking salt effluent with sodium hydroxide then again filtered and the filtrate is open dried or evaporated for salt recovery and/or distilled water.
