A COLOUR MATCHING FORMULATION SYSTEM FOR TEXTILES

A method and apparatus for colour recipe prediction are provided for predicting recipe and dispensing dye and additives textiles by applying neural networks and optimization programme. The matching of colour values can either be taken in terms of tristimulus values (X,Y& Z) and/or L*,a*&b* or 31 reflectance values over wavelength range of visible spectrum i.e. input data of textile substrates dyed with specific dye class particularly Disperse & Reactive dyes on polyester & cotton substrates respectively, with three to four colorants. The trained weighted connections stores the optimum knowledge being the connection bridge between input & output layers and is responsible for generating output as various concentrations related to specific colour values. A precision dispensing device attached to CPU could accurately dispense the predicted dye solution and additivies automatically. The said system for textile colour matching can also be used for, but not limited to, dye recipe formulation on different substrates like wool, silk and other natural and manmade fibers of different textures along with alternate recipes, colour formula correction, smart matches based on data library, searching existing formulas for the closest match and deciding of colour tolerances.
