Disclosed is a multi-purpose handbag for keeping not only small-sized items such as cosmetics, cosmetic instruments, or stationery but also items made of paper such as a diary, a pouch, a wallet or the likes, and if necessary, further mounting a plurality of cases for holding variously-shaped items or other safe-keeping devices therein. The multi-purpose handbag includes: a base plate having a front part, a rear part, and a later part, which are folded in the shape of symbol; an item-carrying case formed on the inner surface of the rear part of the base plate for safe-keeping of small-sized items; loose rings located on the inner surface of the folded base plate; and a loop located on the inner surface of the rear part of the base plate. The loose rings, or a binder, which has a function similar with that of the loose rings, are arranged according to a user"s intended purpose, such that the user can utilize the inner space part of the handbag efficiently.
