Slide valve (5), especially for coating units, for separation of two subsequent modules (1.2) or chambers, inside which different pressure levels, for example vacuum and atmospheric pressure, may be adjusted, and at least one slide plate (7) being foreseen in- side a housing (6) transfixed by an opening (4) bi-directional moveable between an inactive positing, releasing opening (4), and an operating position completely covering opening (4), and the area of slide plate (7) is larger than the free transversal section of opening(4) and featuring at least one closing drive (8.10), which may be activated to act upon slide plate (7) in its opening position for its sealing contact in a closed position propped up against a sealing surface (9.11), embracing opening (4) which transfixes housing (6) characterized in that, relative to the regulating movement of slide plate (7) preferably in a pendulous position, at least one closing drive (8,10) is firmly integrated in housing (6).
