An eye-type buttonhole sewing machine comprises an x-y table (9), on which a work-piece clamp (11) is disposed, which is mounted for displacement in the x direction. The work-piece clamp (11) is operated by means of a pneumatically actuated piston-cylinder drive (20) which is mounted on the work-piece clamp (11) and which is connected to a com-pressed-air hose (28). This compressed-air hose (28) is releasably connected to the piston-cylinder drive (20) by means of a hose coupling (32). (FIG). 4
