In a protection device for the screw setting on an adjustment member (14), a spring member (22) is connected with an elongate screw member (15) including an external threading (18) as well as with said adjustment member (14). The spring member (22) has approximately U-shape having two legs (24, 25). A nut (19) to be secured, engages the external threading (18) of the screw member (15). A lock-nut (21) is provided to secure the setting of nut (19). The U-shaped spring member (22) bears, by means of one of its legs (24) onto nut (19) in axially non-slidable fashion, and by means of its other leg (25) immediately behind the lock-nut (21) onto the external threading (18), into which engages said leg (25). This protection device may preferably be used for securing the adjustment of an actuation device, particularly in a turbocharger. (FIG.4)
