ARRANGEMENT ON A SPINNING MACHINE FOR CONDENSING A FIBRE STRAND

Application 353/KOL/2005 published 2006-12-22, filed 2005-04-26
An arrangement in a spinning machine for condensing a fibre strand comprises a front roller pair of a drafting unit, which front roller pair forms a first nipping line and downstream of which a condensing zone is arranged. An air-permeable transport belt transports the fibre strand through the condensing zone. The transport belt is guided on a sliding surface which is arranged on a suction channel, in which sliding surface a suction slit covered by the transport belt begins in close proximity to the first nipping line. In the end area of the suction slit, the fibre strand is nipped at a second nipping line by means of a delivery device. The two nipping lines define a plane, which the sliding surface penetrates immersed with a convex curve and a predetermined immersion depth. According to the present invention, the curve has a radius of between 15 and 30 mm, while the immersion depth measures between 2 and 5 mm. The curve can pass into a tangential plane towards the second nipping line. The curve has preferably an essentially constant radius over the entire length of the suction slit. (FIG.1)
