The process of present invention provides silicon carbide using wide variety of natural fibre such as jute, sisal, sunhamp or any nature fiber having cellulosic and hemicellulosic constituent at its back bone for providing useful carbon for the formation of silicon carbide in the form of particulate, whikers and fibres in the matrix of the carbon.
