The present invention provides a multi-loop drive pretensioner for pretensioning and load-limiting of safety belt webbing in a vehicle. The multi-loop drive pretensioner of the present invention comprises a housing to enclose the multi-loop pretensioner and a web holding member. A pair of oppositely placed lateral supporting segments of the housing having circular and longitudinal passages, to accommodate the movable and stationary cylinder member. A movable bracket is functionally connected to the movable cylinder members. The movable members are provided with tapering grooves at the ends, within which spherical mass bodies pretensioning and to act as a load limiter during load limiting. The movable and stationary cylinder members are disposed alternately to provide a multy-loop drive to the seat belt webbing.
