BRUSHLESS MOTOR HAVING HOUSING ENABLING ALIGNMENT OF STATOR AND SENSOR
Application 1722/DELNP/2004 published 2007-03-30, filed 2004-06-17
An electronically commutated brushless motor (10) including a housing (14) for a accurately angularly aligning a position sensor (74) relative to a position of a stator (30). The housing (14) includes an integrally formed bridge (70) for precisely situating the position sensor (74) within the bridge (70), and a plurality of integrally formed locating ribs (40) formed on an internal surface of a circumferential wall portion of the housing for precisely situating the stator (30) within the housing. Since the locating ribs (40) and the bridge (70) are all integrally formed on the housing, this eliminates the possibility of angular misalignment of the position sensor (74) relative to the stator (30) during assembly of the motor (10).
