The use of antagonists of the bradykinin 82 receptor for the treatment of osteoa rth rosis Peptides having bradykinin-antagonistic action are suitable for the production of pharmaceuticals for the prophylaxis and therapy of diseases in whose course an increased activity of matrix metalloproteinases are involved. These include diseases such as degenerative joint diseases, for example osteoarthrosis',.spondylosis, chondroporosis after joint trauma or relatively long immobilization of a joint after meniscus or patella injuries or torn ligaments, or diseases of the connective tissue such as collagenosis, periodontal diseases, wound healing disorders, or a chronic disease of the locomotor system such as immunologically or metabolically related acute or chronic arthritis, arthropathy, myalgia or disorders of the bone metabolism or ulceration, arteriosclerosis or stenosis or a cancer, tumor metastasis formation, cachexia, anorexia or septic shock.
