The invention provides a method and system for integrated search and social networking where the social network formed is a multi-dimensional social network. A user may provide a search query to search for information. A search system performs a search and provides results for the search query. The user may select one or more of search results for evaluation by one or more of his stored contacts. Alternatively, he can ask whole community by sending a message to the system. The system, in turn identifies appropriate subset of people and groups who can provide inputs and answers. The system forwards the request for evaluation to the selected contacts and receives feedback from one or more of the selected contacts. This feedback is provided to the user in an organized manner. In addition, the system allows formation of dynamic groups based on at least one of their shared location and interest among others. The system provides the most recent updates/messages exchanged between other community members and the ability for users to view other user profiles and to leave notes/comments for them.
