“ DIENE RUBBER COMPOSITION FOR TYRES COMPRISING A SPECIFIC SILICON AS A REINFORCING FILLER“
Application 332/DELNP/2004 published 2006-03-10, filed 2004-02-12
The invention relates to a diene rubber composition which is made from at least (i) one diene elastomer, (ii) a reinforcing inorganic filler and (iii) a coupling agent that links the reinforcing filler and the elastomer. The inventive composition is characterised in that said inorganic filler comprises at least one silicon having the following characteristics: (a) a specific surface area BET of between 45 and 400 m2/g and, preferably, of between 50 and 300 m2/g; (b) a specific surface area CTAB of between 40 and 380 m2/g and, preferably, of between 45 and 280 m2/g; (c) an average particle size (in mass), denoted dw, of 20 to 300 nm. Moreover, said filler comprises at least one, preferably two or better still three, of the following characteristics: (d) a particle size distribution such that dw •&7$%-30; (e) a porosity that verifies criterion L/IF •0.0025 CTAB + 0.85; (f) a rate of silanols per surface unit, denoted NSiOH/nm2, NSiOH/nm2 ”.027 CTAB + 10.5. Said silicas can be obtained according to an original preparation method. The invention also relates to the use of said diene rubber compositions for the production of tyres or semi-finished products intended for tyres and to said products and tyres.
