A spring nut for fastening to a bolt has a frame (1), to which two elastic clamping legs (5, 6) opposite one another are attached. Furthermore, there is a closure leg (9), which is attached with one end in a bendable manner about the frame (1) and comes into engagement with a retaining arrangement (13, 14) in a closed position. In the closed position, the closure leg (9) exerts a closing force on at least one clamping leg (5, 6), and this closing force results in a retaining force holding the spring nut on the bolt. As a result, at relatively high nominal retaining forces for slipping the spring nut onto the bolt and for removing it from the latter, relatively low slip-on forces or withdrawal forces are achieved..
