APPARATUS FOR FILING A SCREW BEARINGLY SUPPORTED WITHIN A HOUSING AND PROCESS FOR OPERATION OF SUCH AN APPARATUS
Application 1578/KOLNP/2003 published 2006-03-10, filed 2003-12-04
The invention relates to a device for charging a screw (7), which is lodged in a housing (6), in particular of an extruder for preparing pre-comminuted plastic material, in particular PET. The device has a charge opening (5) for the screw housing (6), said opening being connected to the lower outlet (4) of a vertical receptacle (1) to allow the flow of the material to be processed. Tools (30, 31), which act on the material in the receptacle (1), rotate about a preferably vertical axis in said receptacle (1). The material is introduced into the receptacle (1), which can be evacuated, through a sluice (60). A rapidly rotating tool (30) for creating a mixing vortex (71) is positioned between an upper section (68) of the internal chamber and a lower section (69) of the internal chamber of the receptacle (1). Rotating tools (31) are likewise arranged in the lower section (69) of the internal chamber, which forms a holding chamber for the heated plastic material that has been transferred there for the purposes of thermal homogenisation. However, said tools are purely mixing tools and do not contribute any significant energy, thus preventing an agglomeration of the plastic material in said holding chamber. (FIG. 1)
