The present invention provides a system for underwinding in a textile ring spinning and twisting machine. The system of the present invention comprises a wharve member, a control means, and a motor. The control means is operably connected to the ring rail assembly for effecting perpendicular up and downward traverse motion of the ring rail and for extending the ring rail assembly to the wharve member. The control means also executes a non-overlapping underwinding of the yarn, at pre-determined positions on the wharve member, after the completion of cop built up on conical tube of the ring spinning machine and before the doffing of cop with new and empty conical tube.
